About the Founder

Holden Fockler is the founder of HD Research, where he applies a fundamentals-driven, research-intensive investment approach integrating rigorous financial modeling with deep qualitative analysis. His work combines detailed three-statement models, valuation frameworks (DCF, comps, scenario analysis), and unit economics with structured research on competitive positioning, consumer behavior, management quality, and company-specific catalysts. He emphasizes analytical precision, mosaic-building, and a disciplined effort to understand the drivers of long-term value.

Before launching HD Research, Holden spent five years in strategy consulting conducting in-depth market research, operational diagnostics, and channel checks for Fortune 500 and private equity clients. His work included speaking directly with operators, vendors, and category managers to assess pricing, product mix, performance drivers, and competitive dynamics. This experience sharpened his ability to extract insights from primary data, pressure-test assumptions, and translate real-world operating intelligence into actionable investment perspectives.

Holden is completing his Master of Science in Finance at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and is a CFA Level II candidate, further strengthening his technical foundation and commitment to disciplined, high-quality equity research.
